Muir Walker & Pride Chartered Architects & Interior Designers are an experienced & enthusiastic team, delivering proper, beautiful buildings and interiors that fit. Through teamwork, creativity and integrity, we accomplish the client’s vision.

The company believes in the importance of continuing professional & personal development of our team. As well as in-house CPD presentations, the office enjoys attending and participating in conferences, exhibitions, study visits & cultural events, both to learn and have fun.

MWP are proud sponsors of Perthshire Rugby Club & The Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment).  We also participate in placement programmes with a number of private and public schools in offering learning experience for young talent.

Director

Ian graduated Dundee University in Architecture and following periods of working in London, Toronto, & Dublin, Ian co-founded Muir Associates in Perth in 1995. Ian obtained an MBA in 2000 & is now the Managing Director of Muir Walker & Pride.
Ian has extensive experience in most building sectors having headed up many projects for Clients including commercial developers, residential developments, private housing, estates, charities, sports & golf clubs, community grant funded projects, townscape & historic shopfront & building restoration. Ian is an expert in integrating energy saving environmental technologies in buildings and has lead design teams on projects with sustainability as a core principle.

Reseda Muir

Director

Reseda was born in Kazan, Russia. She graduated Kazan University in Architecture and co-founded Muir Associates in January 1995 in Perth, Scotland. Reseda since graduated Strathclyde University’s School of Law with a Masters in Construction Law and Dundee College in Fine Art. In 2011 Muir Associates merged with Walker & Pride in St Andrews to form Muir Walker and Pride where Reseda is the Operations Director. Her many responsibilities include architecture, interior design, contracts & business development. She has worked on projects in Moscow, N,Novgorod, Baku, London, Edinburgh, Dundee, Perthshire and Fife.

Eamon Scanlon

Architectural Technologist

Eamon is a senior Architectural Technologist and has many years of experience in the construction industry working in Muir Walker and Pride. He is the go-to man for any technical or HMO or building regulation issue. Over the years, Eamon has worked on a vast range of projects for private & commercial clients including St Andrews University, housing developers, Madras Rugby Club House, Crail Golf Club, St Andrews United Social Club; & church community multi-functional facilities.

Daniel Rodgers

Architectural Technologist

Daniel graduated from Dundee College in Architectural Technology and has ten years post-qualification experience working at Muir Walker and Pride. His experience is varied including new build structures, refurbishments and conservation.

Simon Sword

Architectural Assistant

Simon graduated Dundee University in Architecture and has carried out a number of design projects including a study for mixed use development. Simon is the author of “A new community structure: Micro energy generation as a means for enabling sustainable rural communities”. As well as the wider vision, Simon has a keen eye for detail and its transfer to the built form.

Stelian Stefanov

Architectural Assistant

Stelian graduated with a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Dundee in 2017. Having previously spent his year out working experience at MWP, he was introduced back into our architectural family, where his design insight and 3D skills are now an integral part. Stelian’s main architectural interests are rooted in the social realm, as evidenced in his designs for housing for autistic people and contemporary workplaces in traditional buildings.

Alastair Kerr

Alistair Kerr

Architect

Alistair, an Architect with over 25 years of experience in architecture and construction, brings a wealth of skills and knowledge to the process. Alistair combines an understanding of design with a photographer’s vision for composition and lighting, to create exceptional images. Alistair produces powerful movie-style marketing show combining professional photography with animation technology and a fully licensed soundtrack, to create a unique, high impact, professional presentation of a property. The show is seamlessly integrated with mobile internet and social media to enable rapid and potentially viral marketing.

Nigel Hartley

Planner and Architect

Nigel graduated from the Liverpool School of Architecture in 1982 and became an RIBA member in 1983. He developed an interest in town planning and graduated from London South Bank Polytechnic in 1990 and became an RTPI member in 2001. Nigel was an Associate Director of Broadway Malyan until he established Chestnut Planning in 2003. Nigel has been an associate with MWP on projects in southern England for more than 15 years.

Dawn Black

Office Support Manager

Dawn is a Business Studies graduate and went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant with a ‘Big 4’ Accountancy firm in the Channel Islands. She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW) and became a Fellow (FCA) in 2012. Dawn has many years of experience in the finance industry with the majority spent with multinational firms in a range of highly commercial environments. Her other passion is architecture and design and she gained her Interior Design Diploma in 2017. Dawn cares for everyday needs of the business and helps organising business operations.

Darren Stewart

Darren Stewart

Architectural Technologist

Darren is a Senior Architectural Technologist who graduated from Abertay University in Architectural Technology and has many years of post-qualification experience in construction, focusing on a vast array of projects from large public buildings, schools and care homes to housing developments, extensions and renovations. Darren has since graduated from the University of Dundee in 2012 with a Master’s Degree in Advanced Sustainability in the Built Environment focused on low energy housing and has also gained his qualification in Prince 2 Project Management. He has a keen interest in combining low energy and passive house principles with contemporary designs.
