Small Extension Project

Period property situated within the Conservation Area

Remodelling and upgrading a historic building into a modern home

Conservation Area: Old Cottage Refurbishment and extension

A rear extension and reconfiguration of the old cottage to create a bright, comfortable contemporary “upside down” home that provides a direct link to an external terrace and rear garden from the upper floor.
An unloved property has been transformed into a delightful house for comfortable everyday living. Same judicial slappings, a rear extension & a terrace open up the house to and links the kitchen with the garden. Key to freeing up space & replanning the home was changing the location of the existing staircase & its replacement with a new state-of-the-art feature staircase. New kitchen, stove, rooflights add a contemporary flavour to the property. Insulation values of the existing structure were improved where possible & high performance windows & sliding doors were installed, resulting in economy of energy demand and lower heating bills.
